NEW YORK — Drumroll please: Heidi Klum stepped out for her annual Heidi-ween Halloween party as a peacock – beak, plumage and all.
After much anticipation and a dramatic procession on the orange carpet, Klum appeared in a royal blue velvet bodysuit with an entourage of Cirque du Soleil dancers in green-and-blue bodysuits at New York City's Marquee nightclub Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, her husband Tom Kaulitz showed up as an egg. So, USA TODAY had to ask: "What came first, the chicken or the egg?"
"My husband thinks the egg came first … (hatching) the peacock," Klum quipped.
Klum, who dressed up as a worm last year, said she's always looking to one-up her costumes and Halloween parties. "Every year, I want to make it bigger and better," Klum said, adding she also wants to think of "more creative" costumes.
Earlier this week, Klum teased her look during an Amazon Live event and shared that the look took over eight hours of preparation.
It's a family affair after all as Klum's daughter Leni, 19, attended the Halloween soirée for the second time along with fellow models Brooks Nader, Jasmine Sanders, Maye Musk, Valentina Sampaio and more.
Ice-T and Coco Austin, comedian Keegan-Michael Key, singer H.E.R. and Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles were among the star-stacked guest list with Questlove providing the sound.

Inside Heidi Klum Halloween 2023
Questlove did not disappoint the fully packed dancefloor with a medley of Halloween classics like "Ghostbusters" and "Thriller," fused between songs that made the crowd dance, including the Spice Girls' "Wannabe," Afro B's "Drogba (Joanna)" and Blondie's "Heart of Glass."
Inside the party, guests opted for a mix of scary and sexy costumes ranging from deranged clowns to many iterations of Britney Spears' music video looks.
While the ghouls and goblins danced the night away with Patron El Alto cocktails, dancers in circus attire swung from the ceiling of Marquee, clown heads and limbs dangled from high surfaces and webs covered any bare surface.
The 2023 presence was an increase from the year prior, a sign that Klum's Queen of Halloween reign is here to stay.

Heidi Klum says her 2022 worm costume was one of her best
Klum, who is known for her over-the-top Halloween getups, told USA TODAY last Halloween that her worm costume ranked high on her list of bests along with her memorable 2013 costume, when she dressed as the old version of herself.
The model went full slug for her annual Halloween extravaganza and showed up as a "rain worm," commonly known in the United States as an earthworm.
"I just wanted to think outside the box and do something different and I thought we all know a rain worm," said Klum. "And I want to put a smile on people's faces. … I thought it'd be funny."
She added: "I feel like a million bucks!"
